The Magic of Seeds

Updated: Aug 23, 2020

Seeds might not look like much, but when they grow up, they are can be amazing! If looked after properly, they can develop into huge trees, plants, and bushes. I love walking around the garden with my Nan and collecting all the seeds.

Seeds come off all different plants if you keep them in the soil long enough. Some people pull out their old plants too early and miss the opportunity to harvest the seeds. The seeds are like getting free plants from your own household. The seeds will take longer to grow but they still grow into yummy foods. All you have to do is go outside with a container and collect the seeds. Some seeds come in pods or they drop themselves if you're too late harvesting them. Seeds like corn, are already there, the corn itself is the seed.

Unique Seeds

All seeds are unique! They come in all shapes and sizes. You can eat some of these seeds like sunflower, pumpkin, and dill. All these are superfoods!!

You harvest the seeds when they are fully dried out. If you get them when they are too green they will not grow. Tomatoes seeds grow inside the tomatoes so does zucchini, cucumber, orange, apple, and all the other fruits and some vegetables.

Growing Seeds

All seeds needs and a place full of sunshine and lots of water. They also need a pot to live in at a sunny or shady place in the garden. Watch the seeds sprout and don't flood them. When the plant is bigger, transplant to a bigger pot or into the garden. Soon it'll be harvesting time.
